Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 15, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and browser storage davesplace.shop uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. For how we handle other personal information, see our Privacy Policy.

Cookies vs. local storage

Cookies are small files a website places on your device. Local storage is a similar mechanism built into modern browsers — it holds data for a specific site and doesn't send it automatically with every request. Both are ways to keep state between page loads. Our site uses local storage for most of its state; we don't set tracking cookies.

What we use

Here is everything the site stores in your browser:

Name Type What it does
davesCart Local storage Holds the items you've added to your cart — name, price, and quantity. Stays in your browser until you submit an order or clear it manually.
davesCookieConsent Local storage Remembers that you clicked "Accept" on the cookie banner, so we don't show it again on your next visit.
Google Maps cookies Third-party cookies Set by Google when the map on the Contact page loads. Used by Google to remember map preferences and load the map correctly. We don't control these cookies.

The cart data stays in your browser until you submit an order or clear it manually. It is not sent to our server until you reach the checkout page and press "Place Pickup Order".

Google Maps

The Contact page embeds a Google Map. When the map loads, Google may set cookies to remember your map preferences and to help the map load. Those cookies are set by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google's own cookie and privacy policies. In regions where Google requires consent for the map to load, the map may not appear until you interact with it.

What we don't use

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other analytics or advertising service. We do not have third-party tracking scripts, retargeting pixels, or social media buttons. There are no cookies used for marketing purposes.

How to control cookies and storage

You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser's settings — look for "Clear browsing data," "Site data," or "Storage" in your preferences. The exact wording varies by browser. Clearing storage will empty your cart and re-show the cookie banner.

Most browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely. Blocking cookies from Google will affect the map on the contact page but won't affect the rest of the site.

Private or incognito browsing modes don't persist storage between sessions. If you order from a private window, your cart will not be saved after you close it.

Changes

If we add cookies or similar technology in the future, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
