Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: January 15, 2026
Dave's Place wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We built davesplace.shop with accessibility in mind and we continue to improve it.
Conformance target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That's the standard most small businesses in the U.S. target, and the one we test against. We review the site at least once a year.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML — pages use headings, landmarks, lists, and form labels so screen readers can navigate the structure.
- Keyboard access — every link, button, and form field can be reached with the Tab key, and the visible focus outline shows where you are.
- Color contrast — body text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Alt text — photos and menu images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked as such.
- Scalable text — the layout remains usable when the browser font size is increased to 200%.
- Responsive layout — the site works down to 320-pixel-wide screens and across mobile, tablet, and desktop.
- No flashing or autoplay — no content on the site flashes, and nothing plays sound automatically.
- Form feedback — error and success messages are announced as text, not conveyed by color alone.
- Visible labels — form fields use visible labels, not just placeholder text.
Known limitations
- The Google Map embed on the Contact page is provided by Google. It's keyboard-accessible but not fully screen-reader-friendly. If you need directions, call us at (920) 398-1422 and we'll walk you through it.
- Photos of menu items are currently illustrative rather than the actual plating. Screen-reader users will hear the description, which matches the dish.
- Some pages don't yet include a "skip to main content" link. We're working on adding it across the site.
Feedback
If you find something on this site you can't use, or that makes it harder to order, tell us. Email [email protected] or call (920) 398-1422. Describe the page and what went wrong, and we'll fix it as soon as we can.
If you need this policy or the menu in an alternative format — larger text, plain text, or read aloud — call us and we'll provide it.
Formal complaints
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, which enforces Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, at ada.gov. We hope it doesn't come to that — please call us first.
